At the resin pipe manufacturing factory, the rat hole phenomenon caused by calcium carbonate with an average particle diameter of about 2μm occurred frequently. Air aeration using SUS plate processed products and air injection through pipes inserted from the top of the hopper did not improve the situation, but it was resolved with vibration and air injection using the "Blow Disk." Among various powders with poor fluidity, titanium dioxide is a troublesome powder. This time, we are addressing issues around the vertical piping (300φ, 1200L) to the screw feeder. At the short pipe section just above the screw, a bridge (or rat-hole formation) occurred, and before the installation of this equipment, the short pipe was hammered from the outside each time this happened. However, it has now become stable in supplying titanium dioxide to the screw. (There were no signs of adhesion or blockage in the vertical piping of 300φ from the beginning.) This equipment is economical and easy to install. It is also used in various applications for troublesome powders like TiO2, as in this case. We were able to resolve the powder blockage in the air transport hopper. There were concerns that the discharge outlet diameter, which is relatively small at 2S, was causing blockages just above it. In the fish feed manufacturing equipment, blockages were occurring at the junctions of the transport piping. When bridges or blockages occurred inside the piping or chutes, we would manually hammer from the outside or, if there was an inspection port nearby, poke the blockage with a rod. The air aeration system using rubber disk air pads easily resolved the issue.
